Yes. Display Dimmer gives each detected display its own brightness and contrast controls. Adjust monitors individually or change all of them together, without reaching for their buttons. The controls are in Display Dimmer itself, rather than Windows’ built-in brightness panel.
Yes. Software dimming can make the image darker even when your screen is already at its lowest brightness setting. It adjusts the image rather than lowering the display’s physical backlight.
Hardware brightness control depends on your monitor and its connection. Enable DDC/CI in the monitor’s menu, then turn on Monitor controls (DDC/CI) for that display under Settings → Displays in Display Dimmer. If it still does not respond, try a direct connection without a dock or adapter, and temporarily turn off HDR. Software dimming may still work when hardware control is unavailable.
Yes. Display Dimmer can dim most built-in laptop screens and external monitors on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Use it with a single screen or adjust several displays from the same app. Hardware DDC/CI control depends on the monitor and connection; software gamma dimming works on virtually any Windows display and does not require DDC/CI support, though HDR and graphics changes can sometimes interfere.
